Summer is almost here, and that means it's time to dig into some great books! The Montgomery County Memorial Library System (MCMLS) is kicking off its 2026 Summer Reading Program — "Unearth a Story" — and it's packed with prehistoric fun for the whole family.
Whether your little one is just learning to read or you're a bookworm adult looking for your next adventure, this program is for everyone — babies through adults. Best of all? It's completely free at all MCMLS branch locations across The Woodlands, Conroe, Montgomery, Magnolia, Willis, and New Caney.

Pick up your location code at your branch starting June 1st. | π Paper Reading Log Prefer to go old-school? Pick up a free paper reading log at any MCMLS branch starting June 1st. Kids love checking off books and watching their progress grow all summer long! |

π Good to Know Before You Go
A few helpful guidelines so every library visit goes smoothly.

All library programs are free and open to the public — no library card required! | ποΈ Some events have limited space and may require registration or tickets — check with your branch. | π’ Tickets must be picked up in person — you must be in the building to receive one. | πΆ Priority seating is given to children at kids' events. Tickets are limited — arrive early! |
π¨π©π¦ No more than 2 adults per child at events, unless additional space is available. | π Caregivers must stay with children ages birth–8 throughout the entire program. | π Caregivers of preteens (ages 9–12) must remain in the building during all programs. | βΏ Need accommodations? Just ask at any service desk — staff are always happy to help! |
