Big news for Houston theatre lovers!
Houston Broadway Theatre (HBT) is expanding its summer season in 2026 with two powerful musical productions coming to downtown Houston — and tickets go on sale March 10.
Families, date-night planners, and Broadway fans can look forward to:
Both productions will run for limited three-week engagements in Summer 2026.

Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Location: Wortham Center – Cullen Theatre
Dates: June 16–July 5, 2026
From legendary composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast) and lyricist Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell), this sweeping musical brings Victor Hugo’s classic story to life with unforgettable music and powerful storytelling.
Set in 15th-century Paris, the story follows Quasimodo, the cathedral bell-ringer who longs to experience life “Out There.” When he meets the brave and compassionate Esmeralda, everything changes.
With its breathtaking score — including “God Help the Outcasts” — this production explores themes of acceptance, courage, and hope. While inspired by the beloved Disney film, the stage adaptation carries deeper emotional themes and is best suited for older children, teens, and adults.

Falsettos
Location: Hobby Center for the Performing Arts – Zilkha Hall
Dates: July 28–August 16, 2026
Set in late 1970s and early 1980s New York, Falsettos is a Tony Award-winning musical that blends humor and heart in a story about love, family, and identity.
Created by William Finn and James Lapine, this groundbreaking musical follows an unconventional family navigating relationships, parenting, and life’s unexpected turns.
Warm, funny, and deeply human, Falsettos is recommended for teens and adults due to mature themes, making it a meaningful option for date nights or theatre-loving families with older kids.
A Growing Season for Houston Theatre
Expanding to two summer productions reflects Houston Broadway Theatre’s growing momentum and commitment to bringing high-quality musical theatre to Houston. As a nonprofit arts organization, HBT blends top Houston talent with Broadway performers to create exceptional productions for our community.
Casting and additional creative announcements will be shared at a later date.
