Market Street in Lights: The Woodlands Tree Lighting Celebration

Kick off the holiday season with the 18th Annual Market Street in Lights celebration on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM in Central Park. This beloved Woodlands tradition features the lighting of the 70-foot Christmas tree, live music, special guests, and holiday fun for the whole family.

An Evening of Lights, Music & Holiday Magic

The lighting of the tree will be led by emcees Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands, and Noemi Gonzalez, Market Street General Manager. Their countdown will set off a three-minute light show featuring over 25,000 multicolored lights synchronized to festive holiday music — complete with snow and confetti!

Enjoy a performance by The JoiLux Band from 6:00 – 8:30 PM with a mix of high-energy, Top 40, and classic hits. Market Street retailers will also join in the fun with festive surprises and treats throughout the evening.

Meet Your Favorite Holiday Characters

Keep an eye out for Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked, Elsa and Olaf, The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who, and Martha May Whovier and Santa’s elves. Kids will also love visiting balloon artists, face painters, and strolling performers spreading holiday cheer.

Each year, hundreds of families gather for this signature event to experience the first performance of Market Street’s dazzling holiday display.

Couldn’t make opening night? Don’t worry — the Market Street in Lights presentation continues nightly through the holiday season, with shows every hour on the half hour from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM.
