As a mom of two energetic boys, ages three and five, I’ve always known that swimming lessons would be one of our most important activities — not just for fun, but for safety and confidence too. When I heard that Blast Swim Academy opened this fall in Montgomery’s Woodforest neighborhood, I couldn’t wait to check it out.

From the moment we walked in, I knew this was something special. The facility is bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed for families. There’s even a cozy kids’ play area, which is a lifesaver when one of my boys is swimming and the other has to wait his turn.

We signed up for weekly small group lessons, and in just over a month, I’ve seen incredible progress in both of my kids. My five-year-old has advanced to the Frog level, while my three-year-old proudly graduated to Octopus. Their focus, confidence, and excitement for each class truly amaze me — they count down the days until “swim day!”

Blast Swim Academy was founded in 2019 by swim teacher and father of three, Ian Campbell, with a simple mission: to create the perfect environment for children to learn to swim. The Montgomery location is locally owned and operated by Candice Loebsack, who brings over 24 years of coaching and teaching experience, including time coaching with the Woodlands Swim Team.

Candice has made swimming her lifelong passion and career, and that dedication shines through in every part of the experience. She and her team have intentionally designed the facility and curriculum to help each swimmer reach their potential.
