Best Christmas Lights 2020

Hey Montgomery moms! Take the kids for a drive through these awesome light displays this Christmas.

One of the best parts of the holiday is that the world gets a little bit twinklier—with all the Christmas lights! Trying to pick which neighborhood is best to drive through and admire all the decorations and displays can be tricky- so here are some of the most popular neighborhoods that you can’s miss!

North Houston 

Panther Creek - If you’re in the Woodlands, this neighborhood is sure to take your breath away with its streets filled with twinkling lights and reindeer statues.

Prestonwood Forest - Since the 1970’s, this neighborhood has been putting on a sparkling winter show to thrill all. Each year the neighborhood holds an annual Night of Lights contest where there are many categories for viewers to vote for online!


Santa's Wonderland- is located in College Station and offers hayride and carriage ride tours, live music and shopping. Runs from now until Jan 1 Mon-Thu 6-11pm, Friday 6-midnight, Sat 3-midnight, Sun 3-11pm Cost: Adult $37.95, Child 12 and under $32.95 with discount online and super saver, kids 2 and under are free


The Dodd Family in the Woodlands- This family puts on a light show that is sure to make you stay a while. With thousands of lights and music to get the kids dancing and in the holiday spirit, this house is sure to be worth the drive.

The Lowry Home in Spring - The Lowry home’s goal surely must be to make you want to walk through a real winter wonderland, with its lit path through literally thousands and thousands of Christmas lights. Brings your kids through this larger-than-life experience, and they just might catch Santa in his sleigh on the roof!



Winston Christmas Lights - Please note: the lights at this location will return in 2018. No light diplays for 2017. Located 16323 Cloverwick Ln, Spring, Texas Starts December 5 and will run nightly from 6 pm - 10 pm. Christmas Lights and music display over 3 houses. 


West Houston:

Christmas Katy - is located at 24603 Stoughton Court off I-10 and Pin Oak. This is the 10th  year for this light show and each each it gets a little big better. Turn your radio to FM 89.9 for the music. 


Franck Christmas Light Show - located at 15923 Viney Creek, Houston, 77095.  Sun-Thurs: 5:30 – 10:00pm, Fri & Sat: 5:30 – 11:00pm Tune in to 89.7

Pecan Grove - In Richmond, this neighborhood is a classic winter family pastime! Grab the kids and anticipate a hayride as you look at all the creative light displays.



South Houston

Green Tee Terrace- in Pearland is also a well known neighborhood with beautiful light displays. You can also participate in the Tour de Lites Family Bicycle Ride and Hay Wagon Ride on Saturday December 10, 2016. This does have a cost and you must register, savings if you pre-register.

Magical Winter Lights - is located in La Marque this year at Gulf Greyhound Park. A lantern festival and holiday lights extravaganza, you will see dinosaur land, nature and landmark themed displays. They have carnival rides, live shows, and performances. Runs from now until Jan 8

Sugar Land Holiday Lights - offers over two and a half million lights displayed all over  Constellation Field, home of the Sugar Land Skeeters. (Stay tuned for a giveaway for this event) From now to Jan 8 Opens 6-9 Sun to Thurs and 6-10 Fri and Sat Cost: $14 and children 3 and under are free. Discounts to military, seniors, kids 12 and under, and groups discounted by $3.


Central Houston (Inside The Loop): 

8th Annual Wave Holiday Lights Tour- takes you through City Hal, Discovery Green, and River Oaks. Start at 1160 W 26th Street from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Cost: $35 includes specials at some of the establishments in Market Square, holiday treats on the bus, and the tour. Tickets can be purchased here. Dec 13-15 and Dec 20-22, $5 from every ticket goes to the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.


River OaksYou will probably not find a grander neighborhood for holiday lights. Many areas have security stations so please be aware of that. A good starting point would be Kirby at Westheimer but I love the area by the country club. You can map your trip HERE


Shepherd Park and Candlelight Plaza- These two areas within the same neighborhood go all out with inflatables, festive archways, bright displays, and more! Word has it that it’s best to start north of West 43rd street and make your way through the winter wonderland.


Spring Shadows - In the 3000 block of Quincannon lies streets filled with lights, music, and all around holiday fun. Drive through and appreciate all the hard work put in to make the world a little bit more Christmassy!


Woodland Heights - You can’t miss Lights in the Heights if you’re a Christmas light fanatic. This neighborhood is definitely known for going all out and earns its place at the top of many lists as one of the best light displays in the Houston area! Lights in the Heights also has its own contest, so you never know how extravagant some houses will get to stand out.


Zoo Lights - is 15 miles of lights and displays throughout the zoo. Runs from now until Jan 15th 



Galveston:

Moody Gardens - Walk through the Festival of Lights, stop for s'mores and enjoy ice skating outside or catch a Christmas movie in their 4D theatre after!
